Daisies

Daisies 1 Working on shades of white  Dropping paint into the background
Daisies 2

They start the demo of the kitchen on Monday.  Oh my.  Trying to prepare myself for the mess, noise, and invasion of my space.  Decided a project would be good.  My flowers are gone, so went to Kroger and bought the $5 bunch.  The deal is:  I listen to music, paint, daisies, and probably at some time drink some wine.  Want to just play with shades of white and gray.
Anyone interested in giving me feedback on what they see or how to improve?  It would be greatly appreciated.  My natural ability is still undiscovered so any help in finding the path to success would be greatly appreciated.  :)

  1. Lynnie, I am sorry that I haven't been checking your blog! It is looking great. I just got back from NY visiting Steven's ( my husband) cousin. She is an artist and art teacher. We always have a great time. I brought her some Sennilier paints I bought for her in Paris. Anyway, when I have more time tomorrow I will really look at your painting - they look wonderful - and try to make some useful comments. I tried to put a pic on my blog, but can't seem to remember what to do. Later.

  2. No worries! I just do a lot of stuff, and don't want to overload the FB page with stuff since you and I seem to be the only ones who really use it. And, always appreciate your feedback as you do have the "artist" genes going for you. If you want me to walk you through the blog thing, just let me know. I too had some trouble after not using it for a while. PS You should post on regular FB more often. Wow. Everyone was just blown away! Loved the comments

  3. Thanks. I guess I feel a little funny posting on regular FB. Not sure why. It was nice to get positive comments.

  4. The first 2 are very nice. Different in that there is no container at least in the second one. I like the white. In the first one I think there is too much of the green leaves in the front. The last three are my favs. The first is very nice but I think the third is better. There is more depth even if you think it's muddy. The yellow daisy just kind of floating there is wonderful. It just is there!

    1. I think you are so right I agree, after looking at them, the last one does have more depth. The yellow daisy in the middle was sort of an a happy accident. I've been struggling to ;use more water and less paint, and it was supposed to be a daisy, but didn't turn out that way. I do get a little frustrated sometimes as it was the one that took the least time and just "happened" I guess my goal is to just let it be. Working on it. Thanks for your feedback. Miss that part since our lessons have ended.

    2. You're welcome. I miss it too. I know what you mean about the ones that take the least time can be the best. That's what I love about watercolors.

  5. Hi Lynnie, I also like the first one and the last 2. The white on the first one just gives the painted a 3-D look. The yellow flower is dreamy, and I love the colors and interesting design on the last picture. Lovely. Sorry girls I have been absent. My life has gottten overloaded, working when I can, my husband's Mom is in the hospital, my Mom just had open heart surg., my husband just had back surg. and my son has his schedule with karate and school functions and not driving alone yet. Things are working out fairly well. I have put many things on the "Back Burner." Ha! I do manage a quick pic here and there. I'll be back. Oh I forgot to mention all the work we have done for breast cancer awareness month Oct. Get a 3-D mammogram girls.

    1. Hi! So good to hear from you! Really miss you, your comments and your lovely art. Sounds as if things have been a bit overwhelming for you, but do hope they settle down soon and you will begin to share your lovely paintings again. Thanks for the feedback. I am trying to make myself scan anything that is reasonably presentable and post here, so would love your comments anytime you have a chance. Keep in touch.
